Most brands come to us with a product and a website and ask for ads. IamFiftyPlus came to us earlier than that. We built the brand with them from the start, then put paid ads behind it. In the first month, the ads brought in nearly five dollars in sales for every dollar spent.

The brand

IamFiftyPlus is a family-owned skincare and makeup line started by a mother and daughter, made exclusively for skin over 50. The formulas are gentle and plant-based, using ingredients like bakuchiol in place of harsh retinol, along with peptides and antioxidants for fine lines. Products are made to order in small batches and dermatologically tested.

It is a clear idea for a real audience: women over 50 who are tired of skincare made for someone else.

What we built

Before a single ad ran, we built everything the ads would point to:

IamFiftyPlus brand board: logo, 50+ icon and brand colors
The IamFiftyPlus identity: wordmark, 50+ icon and color palette, designed by BlackAds.

Then we ran the ads

With the brand and store ready, we launched paid ads aimed at the women most likely to buy. Here is the first month, straight from the numbers:

$4,123.07
spent on ads in month one
$19,762.77
in sales from those ads
4.79
return on ad spend (ROAS)

A 4.79 ROAS means every $1 spent on ads brought back $4.79 in sales. For a brand in its first month of advertising, that is a strong start, and it gives a clear base to scale from. The best campaign did even better, returning $6.67 for every $1.

Meta Ads Manager results for IamFiftyPlus, September 2026, with purchase ROAS of 6.67, 5.00, 3.84, 2.10 and 1.77 across campaigns

How we made it work

A result like this does not come from switching ads on. It comes from getting four things right before the first dollar is spent.

1. Strategy

We started with the numbers: what a customer is worth, what the brand can afford to pay for a sale, and which products to lead with. Campaigns were split by goal, from reaching new customers to bringing back people who visited or added to cart, so budget went to what was actually selling. Campaigns that delivered got more budget; the ones that did not were cut quickly.

2. Ad creative design

Every ad was designed in the brand we built: the same forest green, the same calm, premium look as the website. Product shots, real results and short videos showed what each product does on mature skin. When the ad, the product page and the packaging all look like one brand, people trust it enough to buy.

3. Positioning and messaging

IamFiftyPlus is not skincare for everyone, and the ads never pretended it was. The message was simple and direct: skincare made for skin over 50, gentle enough to use every day, without harsh ingredients. Women who had given up on products made for someone younger saw themselves in it right away.

4. Targeting the right audience

We aimed the ads at women over 50 who care about their skin and already buy skincare online, then let the results guide us. Interest and lookalike audiences found new buyers, and retargeting brought back shoppers who were close to buying. Spend followed the audiences that converted, not the ones that only clicked.

Why it worked

Ads work best when everything behind them is ready. Because we built the brand and the store with ads in mind, every click landed somewhere that looked trustworthy, spoke directly to women over 50, and made buying easy. The strategy, the creative, the message and the audience all pointed the same way, so more of the people who clicked went on to buy.
